When a woman’s body starts to respond to the declining estrogen and other hormone levels, menopause happens. Each woman will experience menopause but in different levels and situations. Symptoms of menopause vary in every woman and these symptoms of menopause are identified as less common, very common and serious symptoms.

You must be aware of different symptoms of menopause because there are serious symptoms that are should not be disregarded. Here is a list of the symptoms of menopause:

Women who are in the menopausal stage can experience night sweats and hot flashes. Hot flashes are the feeling of sudden heat with sweating. If hot flashes happen during sleep, it is called night sweats. Most women suffer hot flashes during the stage of menopause.

One of the chief signs of menopause is menstrual irregularities. A woman may experience a change in the menstrual cycle, which may be shorter or longer in between periods.

Tension headaches and migraine may be felt during menopause.

Some women complain about mood swings that are caused by the decline of progesterone and estrogen levels. Mood swings include strong emotional reactions such as anger, sadness, delight or irritability.

Many women who are in the stages of menopause may have troubles in sleeping or insomnia. Usually, night sweats and hot flashes cause insomnia. Sleep disorders are also because of neurological excitability.

As the woman’s metabolism slows down, weight gain occurs. It can be helpful for women in menopause to get into physical activities to stay fit.

Some women may feel intense fatigue in the process of menopause. However, this symptom may be temporary as the body is adjusting to the low estrogen level.
