Lupus Symptoms
Lupus is a disease that can affect any part of our body – kidney, joints, skin and blood. It can be mild or severe and can even be short-term or permanent. Not every person with lupus experiences the same symptoms. Some people with lupus can easily recover and some can have the disease permanently.
There are also pregnant women with lupus. They have a higher rate of miscarriage or having a premature baby. Some pregnant women can have diabetes and kidney complications. It is always important for them to have the right nutrition during pregnancy.

However, the most common signs and symptoms of Lupus include fatigue, joint pain and fever. There are cases when the disease can come abruptly or build up slowly. Lupus has many symptoms like a butterfly-shaped rash that usually appears on the cheeks and the nose. Rashes may occur on other parts like the face, arms, shoulders, chest and hands. Most people with lupus are often sensitive to sunlight. The heat of the sun can aggravate their skin rashes and make it worse. There are other symptoms of lupus – mouth sores, depression, memory loss, hair loss, confusion, dryness of the eyes, fingers become pale or blue if tired, difficulty in breathing and chest pain.
People with lupus can be anemic as the disease decreases the red blood cells. That is why it is common for them to have headaches. Some can even experience seizures. Lupus can damage other systems in the body like the kidneys, blood, blood vessel, lungs, central nervous system and the heart.
If you are having some of these symptoms, please see your doctor right away.
